What to do if you don’t have Microsoft Office
Wednesday, November 14th, 2007This week I’m going to talk with you about OpenOffice.org. If you don’t have Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, or any other Microsoft Office applications, it may be hard for you to open some attachments in your emails. I’m here to tell you to have no fear! OpenOffice.org can open any of these types of documents and then some. OpenOffice.org works just as well as Microsoft Office if not better. Just ask Wendi over here at the office. She thoroughly enjoys the benefits and features of it. Best of all, OpenOffice.org is FREE! Microsoft Office 2007 will cost you at least $400! And that’s just to install it on one computer! OpenOffice.org can be installed on as many computers as needed. That’s it for now. Stay tuned for next week’s tip.

This Saturday, November 17th, Wendi and I will be volunteering our services to New Life Baptist Church’s 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament in Grantville, GA. At the tournament, there will be 45 raffle prizes. Out of those 45 raffle prizes, three of them will be $50 website updates from Mr. Technique.

You can type a website address without the www or the .com and still go the website (see the screenshot to the left). To do this, type in the name of the website (without the www and .com), hold the Ctrl Key and press Enter, and the www and the .com will be filled out for you. This works for both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. This may save you a few seconds to even a minute of typing depending on how fast you can type.
